GRADUATION BALL:WHAT I WORE

In the end, I decided to go for a short summer dress. There was a mixture of short and long dresses, informal and formal but everyone made the effort and looked great! With the hot weather and fun fair outside, I wanted to enjoy the rides without thinking about ruining my dress but still look nice. This was a last minute buy, on the day of graduation ball. I went for a blue cut out dress with white flowers from New Look.

I'M A BUSINESS GRADUATE

A bit of a late post. Today, I've had the chance to blog although I'm feeling tired after getting back late last night. The past 2 weeks have been busy sightseeing, London and catching up with family. My family from Hong Kong arrived just before graduation and we celebrated together on Friday 19th July 2013. It's been great but for some of them it's coming towards the end of their holiday.

Here's a few snaps of the graduation. Such a memorable day, seeing all my friends again and celebrating together with a few surprising gifts. It's been such a great experience the last 3 years and I still can't believe I've graduated and won't need to continue studying.

MISSGUIDED: LOVING MIDI SKIRTS

Whether it's a skirt or a dress, I think a midi is the perfect length to dress up for a night out of cocktails or going into town. Like all skirts, they are all versatile and can be worn with a variety of tops. Thinking ahead to next season, this is an easy transition piece from Summer to Autumn.

A loose fit provides a more casual, laid back - I'm comfortable look - paired with ballet pumps or sandals. The alternative is a tight midi which shows more of your figure, for a evening out, you may opt for a daring print which can be easily paired up with boots or heels.

Regardless of colour and print, midi's provides an alternative to your bottom half or style of dress giving you a polished look without trying too hard. The only thing I would say is having a mixture of tops to change up your style. With dresses, they're perfect for layering. I would buy plain coloured midi's, although they are simple, it allows you change up your top half with prints, stripes, different sleeve lengths etc to suit the season and the occasion.

Here's a few from Missguided (They've got such a range with affordable prices)
Plain coloured midi skirts costing only £7.99!!

LET THE SUN SHINE

I've made the most of the last two days. Catching up with friends under the sun and sitting by the river and a castle. The perfect scenery and trying to be healthy - first stop at M&S Food (one of my favourite places to grab something for lunch) the next day I picked up a baguette at EAT. But I couldn't resist a Ben and Jerry's Mint chocolate chip ice cream after walking away from the chocolate mousse the day before.

I've had such a bad shopping day, feeling annoyed and not bringing back anything. My day of shopping was truly unsuccessful. However, I can never be disappointed with ZARA sales, the things I spotted were mainly jumpers. With the weather at the moment I'm not reaching out for one anytime soon so maybe I'll come back soon and pick a few things up if there is any left.

Also, how could I forget... I made original bubbletea!

Here's a few snaps!

HOLIDAY FEVER!

Dressing in hot weather can be quite challenging, especially the last few days,I feel like I need more summer pieces in the wardrobe (maybe a shopping trip soon..). I wish I owned one of those ice towels the tennis players have because I'm feeling the heat. Not really wanting to go out in the sun as I catch a tan straight away (even in the British weather), feeling sticky and sweating. I've been drinking lots of water to keep me hydrated and eating the odd ice cream! My weekend finished off with watching the finals of Wimbledon, congratulations Murray - history has been made!  Well played and deserved!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend - Häagen- Dazs ice cream anyone?

GRADUATION DRESS IDEAS

In my last post I mentioned that I was still on the hunt for a graduation dress. After searching I've got more of a idea but I want to try a few on before I make my mind up. I'm thinking of getting two dresses one for the actual graduation then one for the ball in the evening. But I don't want to spend too much! For colours ball I wore a nude maxi dress from Miss Selfridge but I'm thinking about wearing a short dress this time.
Here's just a few ideas...

What do you think?

TIME IS TICKING

HI! So I've got 2 and a bit weeks left until GRADUATION. *exciting*
No outfit, plenty of ASOS searching and I must get onto my fitness. So many things to do! Apart from that, tickets my graduation, gown hire and photographs purchased, even the graduation ball ticket.

My next priorities are the most important and time is ticking. I don't really know what style of dress I'm looking for?! AHHH..
Today has been great catching up with friends but coffee and cocktails have been consumed and eating out at Frankie and Bennys - my love for food and eating out will never end...
